Proton v5

Connect the assistant

Connecting has two parts: adding the connector to the assistant, with the Proton URL, and authorizing it in Proton, with your sign-in.

1. Add the connector to the assistant

The connector URL is https://app.protoncloud.com.br/api/mcp. It also appears in Proton, under My Profile > AI Connections.

In claude.ai or the Claude app, add a custom connector named Proton with the connector URL, and click Connect.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an admin of the organization in Claude adds the connector once, and each person connects their own account.

The exact menu path changes from time to time: follow Claude's help on custom connectors.

2. Authorize in Proton

When you connect, the assistant opens Proton's authorization screen in the browser, with the assistant's name (for example, Connect Claude to Proton):

  1. Sign in with your Proton account. For security, authorization requires a recent sign-in: if you signed in more than 15 minutes ago, Proton asks you to sign in again.
  2. Choose the organization. Each one shows what the connection will be able to do: Read only or Read and write, depending on what is enabled for the organization.
  3. Click Authorize. The browser returns to the assistant, and the connection is ready.

The connection request is valid for 10 minutes. If it expires, go back to the assistant and connect again.

A connection applies to one organization. To use another one, connect the assistant again and choose the other organization.

AI Connections

Under My Profile > AI Connections, Proton lists the connected assistants, with the connection date, last use, and expiration date. Disconnect removes the assistant's access immediately.

  • Each connection is valid for 30 days and doesn't renew automatically: after that, connect again.
  • You can have up to 5 active connections, across all organizations. To connect a sixth one, disconnect one.
  • Connecting the same assistant again in the same organization replaces the previous connection.
  • Changing your Proton password disconnects all your assistants.

After a Proton update

The assistant reads the connector's tool list when the session starts. A new tool only appears in a new session, and a tool that was renamed responds that it doesn't exist. In these cases, open a new conversation or reconnect the connector (in Claude Code, /mcp).

Next step: Example requests.
