Proton v5

My Profile

My Profile opens from the avatar in the header or from your card at the bottom of the menu. It has the General, Security, and AI Connections tabs, plus a panel with your license, your teams, and the Proton Runner connection.

General

  • Name. Your email can't be changed here.
  • Language: the browser's language, Português (Brasil), English, or Español. The screen changes right away.
  • Timezone: the browser's time zone or one you choose. Proton times (runs, schedule, reports) are shown in that time zone.
  • Avatar: from the camera icon, an illustration, your initials, or a photo of yourself.

Save appears when something changes.

Security

Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication asks, in addition to your password, for a code from your phone at every login. To turn it on:

  1. In Config 2FA, install an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy.
  2. Scan the QR Code with the app.
  3. Type the 6-digit code that the app shows.

Deactivate 2FA turns the verification off.

Change password

Change Password changes your password. Use at least 8 characters, with letters and numbers.

API tokens

An API token lets a system or script use Proton's APIs on your behalf, with your permissions: the Execution API and the query API.

  1. In Manage Tokens, use Generate API Token.
  2. Give the token a name and choose the date it expires.
  3. For an integration that only reads (monitoring, data warehouse), check Query API only (read): the token only performs the reads of the query API. The option shows up when the organization's plan has the query API.
  4. Copy the token and store it somewhere safe: it is shown only once.

Each token is valid only in the organization where it was created, and you can have up to 3 per organization. Revoke disables the token immediately.

tip

For integrations that shouldn't depend on a person, use the token of a robot account, generated by whoever administers Proton in Access & Teams > Username.

AI Connections

The AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, and others) that use Proton on your behalf, with your permissions. The tab shows the connector address, ready to copy, and each connection with its access level (read-only or read and write), the organization, the last use, and the expiration date. Disconnect removes the assistant's access immediately.

See Proton MCP.

Side panel

  • License: full access or Runner only.
  • My Teams: the teams you belong to.
  • Proton Runner: Open in Runner creates, in Proton Runner, this organization's connection with your user, and Copy details copies the server and the email. You enter the password in the Runner. See Proton Runner.

Permissions

Some My Profile actions (saving your data, changing your password, turning on 2FA, and managing tokens) depend on the user permissions in your profile. If one of them fails, contact whoever administers Proton.
